How to Style a Collarless Lady Jacket with Jeans

Lady jackets have been back in vogue in the last couple of years, to the delight of all classic style lovers, me included! Lady jackets not only teleport us back to the early haute couture era and Jackie Kennedy's fascinating fashion reign, they also offer a preppy spin on outfit layering. In fact, for a long time, we defaulted to blazers, cardigans or denim jackets for adding a layer to our looks. The return of collarless lady jackets has been a delightful addition to the layering arsenal. Lady jackets are typically short and collarless. They sometimes feature distinctive button detailing, pockets, and a substantial tweed-like fabric. Lady jackets come in a wide color palette ranging from everyone's favorite neutrals to vibrant options. When it comes to styling, lady jackets offer tons of versatility making them a staple in any wardrobe.

I recently purchased this light coral tweed lady jacket and couldn't wait to wear it. It's a snazzy piece that's great for bringing a touch of color to a simple look. I paired this collarless jacket with super wide-leg jeans and a bodysuit. I love how the classic and dressier vibe of the jacket elevates blue jeans. To balance the color effect, I went for coral strappy sandals. Those have been a favorite in my closet, so much so that I have purchased them in seven colors, but that's a conversation for another post! This lady jacket elevated casual outfit is perfectly appropriate to rock as officewear and it's also a stylish choice for casual outings such as meeting friends for coffee or lunch.
This coral lady jacket is definitely going to be in my Summer outfit rotation and styled many different ways. In fact, a lady jacket goes well with a fitted top and pleated skirt, or even with dressy trouser pants and pumps, or can be a great substitute for a cardigan over a dress. They are many options to wear these jackets, and all of them ooze that preppy, classic style that a lot of us stan for.
Lady jackets are fashion proof that once a piece goes classic, it really never loses it "cool"! Are you into lady jackets too? Chime in the comments!
