Smart Casual Spring Outfits to Wear Now
Share
Who would have thought Spring would be here this early when just a couple of weeks ago we had to bundle up in our biggest coats and coziest boots to fend off the cold? I love a good outerwear piece during the cold seasons, but I always look forward to shedding or even replacing layers as soon as mid-February hits. Though the biggest difference between Winter dressing and early Spring dressing is whether ot not you wear a coat, there are many more ways to transition your daily outfits to jive with the warmer-but-still-cool temps. Here are a few ideas to start getting into the swing of bloom season:
1. Try A Vest and Blazer Combo Over Jeans
Vests have been trending the last few years and they're still going very strong. What I love about vests is their versatility and how they can be worn on their own, as an outer layer, or an inner layer. For this business casual outfit, I paired a matching, neutral-toned vest and blazer with a wide-leg pair of jeans. This is an easy outfit that works well for office settings and after hour activities. To spice it up, I accessorized it with a neckerchief and a crossbody handbag by Paris 64. When Summer comes, simply take off the blazer et voilà!
2. Keep Your Oversized Cardigans in the Rotation
Cardigans are a year-round wardrobe staple! They are easy to style and make a perfect layer for cool weather. Make it oversized, and a cardi is even better for Spring dressing. For this outfit, I paired light straight-leg jeans with an oversized cardi and boots. I love the simplicity of the look! It's got structure without being too stiff, and the matching brown boots and Paris 64 crossbody bag add a natty touch to it.

3. Play with Prints
I love a little print action especially during this time of the year. A striped pair of pants, a floral shirt, or a polka dot skirt are all snazzy options to get into Spring mood. For this business-mixed-with-pleasure vibe, I opted for my one and only polka dot slip skirt and a black vest and blazer on top. I went with lugged loafers for a casual touch and accessorized with long pearl necklaces for a classy, lady-like allure.

4. Replace the Classic Trench with a Cape Trench
No matter what you wear with it, a trench coat always brings a classy touch to a look. Whether it's barrel jeans with a tee, or a casual knit dress, a neutral-hued trench coat is sure to elevate your look. And though the classic trench silhouette will never lose its appeal, there are many more spins on the trench coat that are worth the buy. Case in point: this belted cape trench coat. It was love at first sight when I spotted it in the new Spring arrivals. I styled it with wide-leg jeans and a wide leather belt for a modern and polished vibe. For some fun contrast, I added colorful red slingback heels.

5. Again, Have Fun with Prints!
If you follow fashion news, then you know that animal prints are back in a big way. Leopard was everywhere this Winter and last Fall, and the zebra print is gaining momentum as we head into warmer weather. This casual outfit features a black and white zebra-print dress with a camel brown blazer, a brown belt, and brown sneakers. Brown pairs beautifully with black and white, and weaving the brown throughout gives the outfit a coordinated and chic flow. This is streetstyle weekend wear at its Spring-iest!
