When Christopher John Rogers and J.Crew join forces, you know you're in for a bold fashion treat! The collaboration, launched earlier this Fall, is an exquisite fusion of CJR's bold color plays and strong silhouettes with J.Crew's classic and streamlined aesthetics. Browsing the pieces, you can't help being captivated by extra wide, color-blocked stripes, striking metallics, and graphically bold prints that only CJR can pull off! I'm a fan of prints, and I'm especially partial to bold prints so of course I had to check out the sculpted skirt in duchesse satin and its matching jacket in the dot mixy print.

What drew me to those pieces was first that I could wear them as a matching set if I wanted. And we know a matching set is an easy way to take theΒ guessing game out of getting ready. Another selling point for me was the print itself: it's unique, packs a lively punch, and just offers a refreshing contrast from typical Fall fashion. The fabric quality was another reason I decided to give these jacket and skirt a whirl. They are made of a structured satin material that gives off just enough sheen to elevate a look without being over the top. And of course, I love how the classic cuts balance the bold print, creating a more versatile vibe.

For my first look with these pieces, I paired the skirt and jacket for a maximalist allure. To keep the focus on the print, I opted for a neutral cami and neutral shoes that blended with the color palette. I wore this look to an afternoon social event, and let me tell you, it made a memorable impression! I received a ton of compliments and felt super bold inside. You know how an outfit can make you feel like you can run the world and go for any adventure and just be fearless? Well, that was my experience! Want to know what that feels like? Shop this CJR x J.Crew colorful printed outfit and let me know in the comments how it feels to rock it!

Fit-wise, I should note these pieces are tall-girl friendly so perfect for my five foot eleven stature, which means they might be a little long if you're of petite or average height.

Party Shoes You Can Wear Beyond the Party

Fashion blogger Farotelle wearing blue jeans with silver pointed toe pumps, holiday party shoes, strappy mules, Minneapolis blogger, black fashion blogger

Holiday season is upon us and that means it's time to start organizing gifts, getting the Christmas decorations up, and planning holiday party outfits. And speaking of outfits, going from everyday dressing to party dressing is not completely straightforward. Holiday parties tend to be more formal and require a more intentional process than workwear or casual outfits. Whether you go for an evening gown, a little black dress, or a sequin ensemble, looking the part for a New Year's get-together is a not only a matter of the clothing, it also has a lot to do with the accessories, including shoes. Satin and velvet heels adorned with rhinestones have been at the top of classic formal wear shoes. Those are great options to amp up the glam effect and bring a touch of red carpet allure to an outfit. However some of those shoes can be so dressy that it's hard to get much wear out of them and rock them for more frequent activities such as going to work, or a night-time dinner date. And if you're like me, you like a good, quality pair of shoes that can multitask and go with more than just a velvet dress. I find that classic pointed toe silhouettes with minimal bedazzling, or even flat shoes in rich materials such as velvet offer a more versatile take on holiday party shoes than the traditional satin pumps with crystal embellishments. After all, who doesn't want to be able to wear the same shoes to a Christmas party as they do to a girls night out in April?

Stylish Sunglasses That Don't Break the Bank

Fashion blogger Farotelle wearing layered Fall outfit with oversized square sunglasses, affordable sunglasses for Women

Yes, sunglasses protect our eyes from the sun, but sunglasses also impart a generous dose of style to our daily routines. When it comes to accessorizing an outfit on the go and without much preparation, sunglasses are the way to go. Think quick errands when you don't have time for eye makeup. A pair of sunglasses, especially one with darker lenses, is an easy way to compensate for a no-makeup day and to bring a touch of gravitas and polish to just about any ensemble, even the most casual one. Sunglasses are also available in light options with gradient lenses that are more see-through and that lend a cool vibe to outfits, day or night. Round, square, butterfly, aviator, sunglasses come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and that means everyone can have a pair that fits their facial features and their fashion taste. Price-wise, sunglasses are all over the place. You can find a pair for less than $20 on Amazon, or spend triple that amount at specialty retailers, or if you're partial to designer sunglasses accessories, you could be in for multiple hundreds of dollars. Now if you follow me on this blog or my Instagram, you'll notice that I love to wear sunglasses. And I prefer them big and square though I also enjoy an oversized pair of aviators! I have collected many sunglasses over the years, some designer pieces, and some on the affordable end of the spectrum. The playing field is wide and the options are endless.
