Ann Taylor Spring Summer Dresses and Jumpsuit Review

One thing I always look forward to during Spring is the fashion! Don't get me wrong, I love Winter fashion and all the knit scarves, the tall boots and the coats; but after a few months of freezing temps, I start longing for linen dresses and sandals. When I came across Ann Taylor's new Spring arrivals a few weeks ago, I felt the excitement a little kid feels when they get that new toy. The collection offered variety, color, texture, all with the classic versatility we've come to love from the brand. From neutral linen dresses to colorful silk dresses, the new pieces are sure to cover the work and off-hour style whims. I had the hardest of times picking which pieces to add to my cart because everything was so covetable! I ended up going for a mix of business and casual styles including dresses, jumpsuits, dress pants, and blouses. It was a big order so I'm dividing my review into multiple parts, starting with a couple of the dresses and the only jumpsuit of the bunch.
My Review of the Ann Taylor Plissé Belted Midi Dress
Okay, so online shopping has its quirks and the misgiving for me is always size. Most brands tend to be consistent with their sizing but sometimes, the sizing can be way off and send you into a tailspin of orders and returns. I ordered my regular size Medium in this dress and I'm happy to report that it fits perfectly. The plissé material offers great flexibility so if you're typically between sizes, I would recommend you go down a size. I also love that the dress is tall girl-friendly and gives a midi look on my five-foot-eleven frame. That is always a win in my book! On top of being sized consistently, the dress' material is of great quality and beautifully textured with tight pleats. As someone who's keen on a belted look, I appreciate that the dress comes with a braided belt for a little bit of waist definition and actually a pretty detail! This is a feminine dress that is comfortable and has the perfect weight for Spring and Summer. And although it gives off major office vibes, I think this blue midi dress would be a great option for a formal event if paired with strappy sandals and a clutch. I styled it for work so opted for a pair of matching blue suede pumps. My verdict: the Ann Taylor plisse belted midi dress is a go!
My Review of the Ann Taylor Belted V-Neck Midi Dress in Fluid Crepe
This is another dress that fits true to size. I ordered a size 8 and have been very pleased with the fit. Sleeveless dresses can sometimes gap at the armpits but this one is well tailored and lays perfectly in all places. I also love that the material has some substance to it without being too much for the warm seasons. The color of this dress is another one of its selling points. Who doesn't stan for off-white? It goes with all skin tones and is super easy to mix and match. And as you know, I'm always partial to a belted look so the assorted belt is a great bonus! This dress has a flattering cocktail length, a sleek V neck, and overall is one of those timeless dresses that you'll wear for years because of its uncomplicated yet sophisticated design. When it comes to styling this off-white belted midi dress, I recommend pairing it with pumps and a shoulder bag for a polished office look.
My Review of the Ann Taylor Split Neck Sleeveless Tie Waist Jumpsuit
I don't know if and when my obsession with jumpsuits will subside but for now, it's going full force! It was love at first sight when I spotted this wide-leg blue jumpsuit on Ann Taylor's website. Because of my hourglass figure, I prefer wide-leg silhouettes as they flatter my body type. For this piece, I went with my regular size 8 and find that it fits true to size. I love the navy color because it is a versatile and timeless choice that's perfect for night and day feats alike. In fact, this jumpsuit can be styled many different ways. For work, I paired it with pumps and a shoulder bag. For weekend errands, I paired it with straw sandals and a Summer tote. For an elevated casual look, I went for strappy mules and an oversized striped shirt. The outfit possibilities are endless which makes this blue sleeveless jumpsuit a great wardrobe investment.
