Denim is having a moment right now! But really, denim is always having a moment because it's such a staple when it comes to building a wardrobe. One of the most appealing attributes of denim is that it is seasonless. Yes, denim can be worn in the fall, the winter, spring and summer seasons alike, without ever feeling like it's out of place. During the colder seasons, denim fashion is mostly about jeans. But when the weather warms up, denim takes on more silhouettes and textures, and becomes even more interesting to style. I'm a huge denim fan! In fact, I don't think you can have too much denim. Whether it's jeans, denim shirts, jackets, dresses, skirts, a denim piece is always a good investment, especially one that is in a more classic cut such as straight jeans or a simple button-down shirt. Now, it's good to incorporate some trendy items such as barrel jeans but be careful to not overdo those as they are, again, trends. I've been getting into my denim clothes lately, the classic ones and some trendier pieces, and here are some of the Spring outfits I've worn:

1. Khaki Pants with a Denim Shirt and Leather Jacket

It's a good thing those khaki pants cannot speak! They've been in my wardrobe for many years, and I have put them to work - unapogetically! At this point, their cost per wear is negligible and that's how it should be, right? Anyway, I recently wore them to work with a longline denim shirt and a neutral leather jacket. I was going for a business casual look with a cool edge. The pants' jogger silhouette paired with the denim make for a trendier spin on the traditional khaki slacks with a button-down shirt. I added a dressy moto leather jacket to elevate the look, and wore strappy pumps for a light yet sophisticated touch. This is an easy look to recreate and one that can be worn more casually if you swap the pumps for sneakers.

2. Baggy Jogger Jeans With a Graphic Sweater

I love my straight and wide-leg jeans but sometimes, I like to switch things up with these baggy jogger jeans. These joggers have been my substitute for the trendy barrel jeans. I love the curve effect of those but prefer the more tapered leg of a jogger silhouette. For this casual fit, I paired a graphic sweatshirt with my baggy jogger jeans and lugged loafers. I was going for a cool, urban look with a classic touch so I added a silk scarf as a neck accessory and reached for my statement yellow leather bag from Tomoli. I love the overall simple flair of the look, spiced up with a dose of color!

3. Denim On Denim Wide-Leg Jeans With a Longline Shirt

Perhaps the easiest and most fail-safe approach to denim is to wear it head to toe. I love a monochrome look, whether it's all black, or all white, or all denim. There's just something about matching top and bottom that makes for a simple look that also gives a put-together vibe. For this outfit, I went for effortless chic with blue wide-leg jeans and a blue button-down denim shirt. To give it a warm season touch, I wore a raffia belt with cork platform sandals. You could swap the belt and shoes with different colors or textures to give the look more or less contrast. And to wear this outfit during the cold seasons, simply add a coat and boots et voilΓ !

Smart Casual Spring Outfits to Wear Now

Smart Casual Spring Outfits to Wear Now

Who would have thought Spring would be here this early when just a couple of weeks ago we had to bundle up in our biggest coats and coziest boots to fend off the cold? I love a good outerwear piece during the cold seasons, but I always look forward to shedding or even replacing layers as soon as mid-February hits. Though the biggest difference between Winter dressing and early Spring dressing is whether ot not you wear a coat, there are many more ways to transition your daily outfits to jive with the warmer-but-still-cool temps. Here are a few ideas to start getting into the swing of bloom season:

1. Try A Vest and Blazer Combo Over Jeans

Vests have been trending the last few years and they're still going very strong. What I love about vests is their versatility and how they can be worn on their own, as an outer layer, or an inner layer. For this business casual outfit, I paired a matching, neutral-toned vest and blazer with a wide-leg pair of jeans. This is an easy outfit that works well for office settings and after hour activities. To spice it up, I accessorized it with a neckerchief and a crossbody handbag by Paris 64. When Summer comes, simply take off the blazer et voilΓ !Β

2. Keep Your Oversized Cardigans in the Rotation

Cardigans are a year-round wardrobe staple! They are easy to style and make a perfect layer for cool weather. Make it oversized, and a cardi is even better for Spring dressing. For this outfit, I paired light straight-leg jeans with an oversized cardi and boots. I love the simplicity of the look! It's got structure without being too stiff, and the matching brown boots and Paris 64 crossbody bag add a natty touch to it.Β

3. Play with Prints

I love a little print action especially during this time of the year. A striped pair of pants, a floral shirt, or a polka dot skirt are all snazzy options to get into Spring mood. For this business-mixed-with-pleasure vibe, I opted for my one and only polka dot slip skirt and a black vest and blazer on top. I went with lugged loafers for a casual touch and accessorized with long pearl necklaces for a classy, lady-like allure.Β

4. Replace the Classic Trench with a Cape Trench

No matter what you wear with it, a trench coat always brings a classy touch to a look. Whether it's barrel jeans with a tee, or a casual knit dress, a neutral-hued trench coat is sure to elevate your look. And though the classic trench silhouette will never lose its appeal, there are many more spins on the trench coat that are worth the buy. Case in point: thisΒ belted cape trench coat. It was love at first sight when I spotted it in the new Spring arrivals. I styled it with wide-leg jeans and a wide leather belt for a modern and polished vibe. For some fun contrast, I added colorful red slingback heels.Β

5. Again, Have Fun with Prints!

If you follow fashion news, then you know that animal prints are back in a big way. Leopard was everywhere this Winter and last Fall, and the zebra print is gaining momentum as we head into warmer weather. This casual outfit features a black and white zebra-print dress with a camel brown blazer, a brown belt, and brown sneakers. Brown pairs beautifully with black and white, and weaving the brown throughout gives the outfit a coordinated and chic flow. This is streetstyle weekend wear at its Spring-iest!

How I Styled My Wide-Leg Jeans for Winter 2025

How I Styled My Wide-Leg Jeans for Winter 2025

Forget black trousers! A good pair of black wide-leg jeans is what you need to achieve versatile and snazzy looks this Winter. I am a die-hard fan of a wide-leg pant silhouette. I find it flattering to my hour-glass figure and easy to style. Whether it's denim or linen or a dressier wool material, a wide-leg pair of pants effortlessly balances a laid-back look with a polished vibe. And if you want a versatile piece that checks the box for officewear and casual feats, then a black pair of wide-leg jeans is the way to go. I recently purchased these black wash jeans from Madewell and I have absolutely loved wearing them with sweaters and blazers and coats this Winter. I love the neutral hue and vintage no-stretch feel of the fabric. It is a seasonless piece that I'm excited to continue wearing into the Spring and Summer. But for now, I'll keep it to Winter outfits!

1. Wide-Leg Jeans with A Faux Leather Blazer

One of my favorite styling tricks for Winter is layering. For this elevated casual look, I paired these black Madewell wide-leg jeans with a turtleneck sweater, a brown faux-leather blazer and a long crochet scarf. I was going for a look with texture and dimension, and also for a neutral black and brown palette.

2. Wide-Leg Jeans with a Belted Sweater

Lately I've been into belting my jumpers to give them a little more shape. I've also been into black and brown neutral combos as you can tell by this outfit and the one before. I wore the wide-leg jeans with a ribbed scarf and brown suede boots to add some texture variety and for the cozy factor. This look is definitely a multi-tasker that can be worn to the office and coffee meetups.

3.Β Wide-Leg Jeans with a Plaid Coat

Plaid and I have had a long love story, and that's not about to fade! It's one of my favorite patterns for Fall and Winter and over the years, I have purchased it in many different pieces including blazers, pants, dresses, and this Banana Republic coat. A good coat can make an outfit and for this look, I intentionally went for the neutral black wash jeans and beige turtleneck to keep the focus on the coat.Β

4. Wide-Leg Jeans with a Puffer Coat

Minnesota winters are the real deal! When temps get down to bone-chilling levels, a cozy puffer coat is the way to go. For this casual look, I doned a turtleneck sweater with a sleeveless puffer coat. To jazz up the look, I accessorized it with opera leather gloves, a leather belt, and snakeprint leather boots.Β

5. Wide-Leg Jeans with a Layered Sweater

A dose of color on gray Winter days makes a big difference. And that's why I reached for this bold longline mock-neck sweater. I layered it on a fitted turtleneck sweater (yes, sweater on sweater) and a striped button-down shirt to keep the cold air at bay, and add dimensional interest to the look. I love the contrast that the colorful sweater brings to the neutral base, and the versatility of this outfit. It's one that checks both the work and after-work boxes and who doesn't like that!
