Easy Summer Outfits with Chocolate Brown and Blue Denim
Share
Denim is one of those year-round staples that makes a great starting point for outfits, Winter or Summer. Whether you're into dresses, pants, skirts, jumpsuits, or oversized tops, you're sure to find a denim piece to suit your style and keep you cool during the Summer months. What I love most about denim is that it's easy to pair with a variety of garment types, accessories, and colors. White on blue denim and black on blue denim are quintessential color combos that can be worn both casually and more formally. Another color that plays well with blue denim is chocolate brown. Chocolate brown has been trending over the last couple of years and I have indulged in it, be it pants, tops, or accessories. I've especially enjoyed pairing my dark brown pieces with blue denim. I find that combo to be rich, earthy, and just seasonless. Here are 3 outfits to inspire you to pair your dark brown clothes and accessories with blue denim.
1. How to Style Wide-Leg Blue Jeans with a Waistcoat
Waistcoats have been trending and one easy way to wear them is with wide-leg blue jeans. For this look, I went for a rich chocolate brown sleeveless blazer that I topped with a matching belt for a more polished, office-ready outfit. I also wore matching brown pumps and a large brown shopper tote to balance the color coordination.

2. How to Style a Denim Dress for Work
The story of this denim dress: it sat in my closet for years before I could figure out how and where I would wear it. I'm glad it didn't make it into my closet clean-ups because it's a versatile piece that will stand the test of time thanks to its simple design. For this look, I went for a business casual style by pairing the dress with a wide brown leather belt, suede brown pumps, and a snazzy brown leather handbag. I love the contrast that the brown accessories bring to the dark denim shade to create a polished yet interesting look.

3. How to Style Denim on Denim with a Skirt
The canadian tuxedo doesn't always have to be with pants! Sometimes, you can swap the denim pants for a denim skirt. This is exactly what I did with this outfit. I paired a midi blue denim skirt with a matching blue oversized shirt. To break the monochrome blue color scheme, you can add contrastive accessories. Here I went for a large brown tote, brown sneakers, and a brown belt to give the outfit a nice earthy touch. If you're feeling adventurous, you can go for a bright hue such as red instead of brown.
