The last few days were both relaxing and busy for me. Our family met with friends for a small July 4th gathering on Thursday, then on Friday evening my husband and I checked out a Tekno's show in uptown Minneapolis, and on Saturday afternoon we took the kids to the 2024 Taste of MN event. In between those outings, I managed to hit the gym, go for a couple of long walks, and peruse the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale preview to take my picks. In case you missed it, the first part of my wish list focused on dresses and shoes. For this second roundup, I focused on jeans and accessories. You know I love jeans so of course I had to peek at the sale inventory to see if any pieces would be worth adding to my collection. I'm also partial to accessories because they're the defining elements of personal style. Accessories have the power to take an ordinary look up a notch so it's a good idea to check them out and grab a few to enrich your wardrobe. Here are my jeans and accessories picks for the 2024 Nordstrom Anniversary sale.

1. Blue Straight Leg Jeans

You can never go wrong with a pair of high-waisted, streamlined, and full-length blue jeans. I love that these jeans ooze a vibe that's both classic and contemporary, and can multitask from office to weekend seamlessly. You could pair those with a white tee, a blazer, and loafers for an easy business casual look, or go with an oversized shirt and sneakers for a more relaxed weekend look.

2. High-waist Ankle Wide-Leg Jeans

When it comes to jeans, I think that building a collection that comprises multiple styles and lengths is key. Although full-length jeans offer a lot of versatility, cropped jeans are also an essential in my view, especially if you are into shoes. A shorter length creates room for the shoes to be seen, whether they are strappy sandals or boots. A cropped pair of jeans also creates a more relaxed and casual vibe, which we've all come to love for day-to-day activities. I love these culotte-inspired blue denim jeans because of the flattering high-waist, the lightly lived-in denim wash, and the wide-leg silhouette.

The appeal of these jeans lies in the inner slit details. Coat season will be here before we know it! And the best time to secure a posh coat at a good price is now, when temps are scorching and there are plenty of options still available! I'm a fan of a wrap coat and have collected them over the years in several colors and different silhouettes. I was drawn to this piece first because of the bold red hue that's easy to match with Fall and Winter outfits, but also because of the uncomplicated design that lends this outerwear timeless appeal. The coat comes in three colors including neutral hues if you prefer to keep your jackets in the "safe" color range. I also love the inclusive sizes, which go from XS to XXL. It's that time of the year when we plan July 4th getaways but also have to take the time to preview the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and make our picks. The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is Nordstrom's most anticipated online sale event, especially in the fashion influencer community. It takes place annually during the Summer and features brands we love such as BirkenStock, New Balance, Vince, and others. The event starts off with a 2-week preview window during which shoppers can browse the sale inventory and build their wishlist. Items included in the sale cannot be purchased until the sale actually starts. This year, it will July 13th 2024. 

I have taken the time to browse the preview sale dress inventory, as well as shoes and have found many pieces that not only don't break the bank, but also deliver versatile style. From sleeveless dresses to billow-sleeve dresses, slingback shoes and tall boots, the sale features something for all styles. My picks are more in the realm of transitional Summer-to-Fall and Fall items given the time of the year. I don't know about you, but the July 4th holiday for me is when Summer starts to ramp down and when I start switching mentally to Fall mood. So as a result, I do more Fall shopping once we hit the halfway mark of the year. Here are my dress and shoe picks for the 2024 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
