Before I start rambling about how much I love plaid, let me start with this one thing I haven’t gotten squared away yet! So Haris’ birthday is coming up in a few days. And this time is not just any birthday, it’s his golden birthday: he’s turning 5 on October 5. Not that Haris knows much about this golden thing, but since his big brother is really into birthdays, he told him all about it, and now this birthday is a big deal! The only thing is, I got to it a little late (in other words, I procrastinated), and by the time I tried to schedule something at the nearby Community Center (CC), well the October dates were all taken 😱 so I’ve been scrambling to come up with a plan B before next Friday. I’m proposing we do a fancy dinner on October 5, and have the party at the CC in November. The birthday boy doesn’t seem too keen on this so far but I’m still trying and throwing some incentives in there like a bigger present if the party can be deferred to next month. We’ll see if he comes around this week!

Now back to plaid. I’ve always loved plaid. In fact, when it comes to patterns, I prefer the geometric ones like polka dots, stripes, gingham, and plaid. Why? Because I think they’re classic and timeless. They’re not too much for a white-collar work environment, but can also work for weekend outfits. So I’m super excited that plaid is the pattern of the season and that you can find just about anything fashion in plaid, from boots to blazers, to tees, pants, and so on. I had a pretty good inventory of it before, and now that it’s all over, I’ve added more of it to my wardrobe. Here are some outfits I’ve created with my plaid pieces ⬇️
