10 Jeans Outfit Ideas for Spring and Summer
Share
Spring and Summer are often associated with flowy dresses, casual shorts, and strappy sandals. But one wardrobe staple that transitions effortlessly from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer is a pair of jeans. Jeans offer unlimited styling options and those include outfits that are perfectly appropriate for the warmer seasons. Whether you're looking for a business casual look you can wear to the office, or a simple weekend look for errands and outings, jeans are a good starting point to build upon. If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably noticed that I am into jeans. Like really into them. My collection is fairly large and mostly consists of high-waisted wide-leg jeans, cropped jeans, straight-leg jeans, and more recently a pair of barrel jeans, or carrot jeans as some call them. As far as color, I tend to go for blue jeans because they give off a more classic jeans vibe, and also because blue plays well with a range of colors. Now when it comes to styling, the playing field is broad! Jeans can be paired with a simple tee, with a structured blazer, with an oversized button-down shirt, with a classic blouse, and even with a shirt dress. There is no shortage of outfit options! I like to switch things up with my jeans outfits during the Spring and Summer to incorporate many of the pieces I mentioned above. Here are some jeans outfit ideas that will inspire you to level up your denim style this Spring and Summer.
1. Wide-Leg Jeans with a Balloon Sleeve Blouse
Balloon sleeves are a timeless design in my view. They make a statement without being too much. I love that they come in a multitude of fabrics and colors for dressier looks, or more casual styles. For this look, I opted for a blue balloon-sleeve blouse with a satin-like sheen for an elevated casual daytime look. I paired the blouse with my favorite blue jeans and a pair of bright strappy sandals as well as a coordinated leather bag for a little pop of color. This is an easy outfit that you could wear as a monochrome look by opting for blue shoes and bags, or pick the color of your choosing for a little contrast.

2. Wide-Leg Jeans with an Eyelet Top
Eyelet is one of those patterns that are so fitting for the warm seasons! I love that most eyelet clothing is made of cotton which I find comfortable when it is hot. As someone who is into texture, I also love that eyelet fabrics offer beautiful patterns that add alluring interest to an outfit. For those who are not too keen on prints but want something other than solid hues, I find eyelet to be a great option. This look is another elevated casual outfit that I created by pairing this Ann Taylor eyelet top with yet again, my favorite blue jeans. To dial up the Spring/Summer vibe, I opted for an oversized straw bag and sandals.

3. Straight Jeans with a Blazer
Jeans and a blazer is a never-fail combo and I never say no to an opportunity to pair these classic staples. At the base, this look is a simple jeans and a tee casual outfit. I added strappy heels and a blazer to elevate the look to more of a business casual vibe. For more of a sporty chic look, you could opt for sneakers instead of the strappy sandals.

4. Wide-Leg Jeans with a Striped Shirt
Linen is my favorite material for Spring and Summer. Yes, it requires a little more work on the ironing front, but that still doesn't deter me from indulging in this breathable, structured, and super versatile fabric. I scored this oversized striped button-down shirt at H&M and it's been going non-stop in the work and weekend outfit rotations! For this elevated casual outfit, I went for blue wide-leg jeans, an oversized striped shirt, and strappy heels. I love the head-toe streamlined color coordination that lends this look a smart yet relaxed allure.
5. Wide-Leg Jeans with a Cropped Blazer
As I mentioned in the previous outfit, a blazer and jeans make a classic combo. And that is true even when you opt for a cropped blazer. The tip to elevating cropped blazers is to style them with a high-waisted bottom to give some balance to the look. Here I went for a neutral beige cropped blazer layered over a neutral bodysuit and light-wash wide-leg jeans. I wore brown shoes and a brown belt to maintain a neutral, earthy palette throughout and also elevate the look. You know I'm all about a good elevated casual outfit! The cropped blazer gives the look a chic, contemporary flair that can multitask from desk to happy hour.
6. Wide-Leg Jeans with a Bright Blouse
One style element that is often associated with Spring and Summer is color. As the weather warms up and nature comes back to life, we are reminded that there's more to the color spectrum than gray and beige. And I like to sprinkle a dose of bold color in my Spring and Summer looks. Bright hues have such an energizing effect, even on those who tend to gravitate to neutral style. For this elevated casual jeans outfit, I paired wide-leg blue jeans with a vibrant red blouse and red slingback pumps. This outfit makes for a striking yet very wearable color-blocked style. I wore this outfit to the office and to date nights. Yes, red is a great option for nighttime outings.
7. Straight-Leg Jeans with a Bright Blazer
Keeping in the vein of the last outfit, a bold blazer is a great option to give a jeans look a Spring and Summer vibe. Black and neutral blazers have long ruled our wardrobes but they are no longer the be-all and end-all of blazers! Those garments have been available in bold colors in the recent years and I have totally embraced the enlivenment of the blazer color range. One thing to watch for when incoporating blazers into your Spring/Summer outfit rotation is the material. The warm seasons are not the time to sport a wool blazer! Opt for cotton or linen blazers for all the blazer vibe without the heat factor. For this look, I paired slim straight jeans with a white fitted tee and a longline yellow blazer. This is a classic jeans-and-a-blazer outfit that stands out thanks to the bold blazer.

8. Neutral Jeans with an Oversized Shirt
Yes I'm partial to blue jeans, but I enjoy switching things up from time to time with light, neutral jeans. One of the perks of a neutral pair of jeans is that it could easily pass for casual pants. And I'm here for that kind of versatility! This look is made of a simple cropped jeans with an oversized shirt combo. The bold stripes of the shirt as well as its relaxed, oversized fit add interest to the look! If stripes are not your cup of tea, you could go for a bold colored oversized shirt for a stand-out color-blocked look. I finished the look with lace-up pumps for that elevated casual style. You could swap those for low-top sneakers for a sporty chic ensemble that would be perfect for errands, and kids' weekend sport events. For me, those events entail attending my youngest son's basketball tournaments on Saturdays!
9. Cropped Wide-Leg Jeans with a Belted Linen Shirt
For this look, I paired a Levi's wide-leg cropped jeans with a Ralph Lauren Safari linen shirt and lace-up heels. I was going for something comfortable and a toned-down color palette for that effortless weekend style. I swapped the assorted sash belt that came with the shirt for a matching leather belt to elevate the look. The light wash of the jeans teamed with the khaki-colored shirt make for a chic combination that is suitable for Spring and Summer daytime outings.
10. Wide-Leg Jeans with a Vest
Vests have been having a moment and I have enjoyed seeing these classic closet pieces re-emerge on the fashion scene. Vests come in a range of fabrics and lengths and offer a variety of styling options. You could use them as a layer under a blazer, or over a shirt, or wear them on their own. This last option is especially suitable for the warmer seasons when we are trying to shed layers and stay comfy. For this look, I wore a pair of wide-leg jeans with a streamlined black vest. I finished the look with black heels and a neckerchief scarf for a touch of Parisian chic.
